QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
- Act as liaison with these agencies. Prepare and submit all reports as required by regulations of these agencies
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to detect potential accident and health hazards, and implement corrective or preventative measures where indicated
- Conduct regular audits of safety procedures to be sure they are fully implemented and effective, including but not limited to: Lock out/Tag out, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Emergency Response, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, etc
- Conduct and document Job Safety Analysis to identify hazards. Implement corrective actions identified by
- Investigate, document and report employee accidents, illnesses and near miss incidents. Indentify root causes of safety related incidents. Identify and implement corrective actions JSAs
- Develop, conduct and evaluate safety training programs.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Employee Safety Committee
- Coordinate, conduct and document the results of annual fire drills and emergency actions necessitated by an environmental or other emergency
- Consult with all departments on the design and use of equipment regarding ergonomic and machine guarding requirements. Implement ergonomic improvements where indicated
- Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
- Maintain safety files and records
- Stay abreast of H&S and environmental legislation changes, assess implications for the company and implement changes in the facility safety program to ensure compliance
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role in an industrial setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) is required in lieu of experience.
- Good command of English
- Have leadership and coordination skills ,
- Based in Unye/ Ordu
- Ability to understand EHS regulations and to develop and manage site-specific policies and procedures to ensure governmental compliance and best practices
- Responsible for coordinating site safety training and personnel development in the area of EHS
- Sustain existing safety and environmental processes and programs over time with enthusiasm and energy.
- Good skills of MS Office required.
- Knowledge of Operational Excellence
- Experience on ISO 14001 and 18001 quality systems and their certifications
