QUALIFICATIONS
- University graduate, preferably from engineering departments, Environmental Engineering is desired,
- At least 2 years’ experience in waste management. Chemical or related industry experience (desired).
- Knowledge of environmental report system and UATF
- Basic knowledge of ADR directive and management
- Knowledge of MOTAT report and tracking system
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Minimum B Class Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Certificate from Ministry of Labor and Social Security
- Strong working knowlege of environmental laws and regulations related to manufacturing operations.
- Good negotiation skills to work with all apsects, government agencies and team members
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English,
- Experience in use of Microsoft and other computer systems.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
- Ensure implementation and enforcement of all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements on-site.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and risk assessments to proactively identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, or processes.
- Monitor safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste with a focus on driver and operational safety.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; perform root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and records in compliance with local regulations and internal safety management systems.
- Lead internal safety audits and support external regulatory inspections; ensure findings are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs to employees and contractors to promote a strong safety culture.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans; organize drills and ensure emergency preparedness.
- Monitor the use and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE); ensure appropriate PPE is selected and used correctly.
- Participate in project planning and equipment/process changes to ensure risks are assessed and mitigated.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve safety performance and reduce operational risks.
