QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall Purpose of The JobThe Payroll Executive is responsible for the timely and accurate payroll processing of seafarers’ salary.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Secures the information on updated wage scales and any relevant update on the crew wages and changes in the contract. Raising Day rate and Exclusion invoices from e-invoicing system.
• Coordinates with the Operation team and client HR team to ensure that the required Monthly Variables/Deduction Lists are received.
• Reviews the crew lists versus the deduction lists received from the Planner and coordinates any offsigners/joiners that are missing on the list that should be included in the vessel payroll.
• Prepares and/or checks the vessel payrolls/monthly portage bills based on the agreed crew contract or wage scale and the deduction lists received from vessel.
• Coordinates with the person arranging the MPO and Allotment as to the actual amount paid to the crew to ensure that correct amount will be deducted from their on-board wages.
• Reviews the payroll and forwards GSS team for payment process and tracking the payment delivery system.
• Answers queries from the crew relating to their on-board wages.
• Ensures that Final Wages of offsigners are accurately computed and arranged accordingly.
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy or with relevant payroll and/or accounting experience
• Good computer operating skills including word processing and spreadsheet experience. Excellent numerical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Methodical approach to work and a good eye for detail.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Proven ability to work to, and meet, tight deadlines.
Desirable
• Experience in using Accounting software and applications
• Demonstrated ability in preparing and analyzing financial data and reports
