QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic analysis specialist driven by curiosity and skilled especially in analytical/physicochemical analysis techniques. The role comprises conducting the quality control analyses along with the investigation in line with the R&D project needs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of bee products and not only further understand the role these characteristic compounds play in these products but how these compounds might impact human health. They will also have the opportunity to work with both academic and commercial researchers on the development of new projects. The ideal candidate must have a strong organic/analytical chemistry background. The role will work with a variety of techniques and instruments, including LC-GC/MS, HPLC, ICP MS, EA-IRMS, spectrophotometer, automated titrator, wide variety of wet chemistry assays.
Duties and Responsibilities / Job Description;
- Responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of the ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, with roles including developing and performing analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- Independently apply analytical methods for the analysis of small and large molecule samples and mixtures derived from bee products.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and analytical-technical documentation (study plans, reports, standard operating procedures -SOPs).
- Track record of execution of multiple R&D projects simultaneously, ensuring work is planned and scheduled appropriately, and looking for cross-functional synergy effects.
- Paying particular attention to specification/needs of analysis and responsible for the results and quality of preanalytical and analytical processes.
- Scientific laboratory-scale literature research including market and competitor analysis.
- Having a positive attitude as a team player and striving to learn and contribute to company culture.
- Finding sustainable solutions to complex support cases in the shortest possible time, applying analysis trouble-shooting approaches when required.
Desired skills and experiences / Qualifications
- Degree in chemistry, food/chemistry engineering, or related fields. An MSc, Ph.D. degree, or relevant professional experience (3+ years) in the field of science will be an asset.
- Experiences in food analysis laboratory providing product safety/quality and R&D activities using instrumental (spectroscopy, electrophoresis, chromatography (LC, GC, MS)) or wet chemistry techniques.
- Advanced understanding and hands-on experience in the fields of analytical/organic chemistry.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Accreditation standards and documentation. SOP review & revision
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Applied knowledge of Analytical method validation and measurement of uncertainty for testing laboratories.
- Proven experience in scientific data analysis and reporting skills.
- Experience in presenting information to multiple audiences, including scientists, executives, and non-scientific personnel.
- Self-motivated and strong team worker with good communication skills.
- Fast, forward thinker with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work, particularly when working to tight deadlines.
- Have good written and oral communication skills in English
- Residency or will be able to reside on the Anatolian side in Istanbul.
